Every Wednesday - Starting Sept. 14th +2nd & 4th Friday of Every Month Events Calendar is now available for pick-upWhy NLA Youth? As the Youth Ministry of New Life Assembly our mission statement is to lead students (ages 12 to 18) to become fully devoted followers of Christ & to create opportunities to find and use the gifts God has given to them to advance His Kingdom. NLA Youth plays a major part in seeing that mission become a reality! We are not running a club (just a place to hang out), we do run events at times that promote this style, but those times are meant to give opportunity to reach out and to open doors to the friends and people God has brought into the life of our youth and into our community. We are together first and foremost to find God and be found by Him, second to find out how we fit into God’s Kingdom and to step out, and third because we are just better together. Life as a student is fast.Every day, students are tugged in multiple directions while our fast paced society is vying for every second of their time. Week after week, students come to our Youth Experiences and every week, students learn about God. This is good, but we long to see great! Great is obtained when students surrender to God and daily grow closer to him. Great is obtained when students become part of a Godly community. Great is obtained when students are accepted, encouraged, and a part of something bigger than themselves. It’s a place to polish our armour and find our place in the battle at hand. We are here to partner with parents in seeing their young people reach their full potential in Christ, and to be of support to them in any way that we can.NLA Youth is a way students can slow life down and focus on what really matters the most. NLA Youth takes the whirlwind of life and reduces it to a place where students can strive to live life to the fullest, as they are surrounded by others running in the same direction toward God.

Holy Land TourNovember 14-24, 2011$2950.00 per/person + taxes and tipsIt is with great pleasure and excitement that we offer to you today this great opportunity to join Pastor Phil & Christina in deepening your walk with the Lord. For almost 11 years now my wife and I have lead over 400 individuals around the world to advance His kingdom through various projects and services. Yet we have been torn with an ever growing need here in Canada to stir a passion once again for the Word and a deeper relationship with our Lord. It’s almost as if everything within the Church has become so familiar. We believe this trip could be a huge catalyst for many to allow the Holy Spirit to bring the Bible alive as we visit and connect the events of the Bible with real places.Over the past three years I have been asked on many occasions to go to Israel, yet I didn’t feel the nudge of the Spirit to go – UNTIL NOW. I feel that the Lord has put this on our hearts and that there are a few individuals all over our North that are feeling this same nudge. So in saying this, we would like to invite all those interested to join us for a full eight days in the Holy Land. You can recieve full details by emailing NLA through the contact page

OUR VISION STATEMENT“Making A Difference Together”Through Unity, Love, and the Power of the Holy SpiritOur goal is to deliberately and purposefully build Individuals to have an Intimate relationship with God, to build the Church to have an Intimate relationship with each other and to help ALL step to the NEXT LEVEL by finding their place to minister in the Church and on the Mission field. (Here in Sioux Lookout and around the World) What does this mean? “Making a Difference Together”THROUGH UNITY we make a difference by bringing a sense of belonging. In 1 Cor. 12 it tells us that “we are many parts but make up one body”, that ‘All are important, All have their place here in N.L.A.’. We must have unity first with God, second with our own family and third with our Church – the body of Christ. One purpose, one heart, One God. How? Through fellowshipping, praying together, reaching the lost together, worshipping together, growing together and through the hearing of God’s Word together. In short, we must share our lives together. (Eph. 4:3-6; 14-16; John 17:20-26; Ps. 133:1; Rom. 12:4-8)THROUGH LOVE we make the difference by bringing a sense of beginning. The starting point to everything has to be love, we realize love is a verb [meaning an action], therefore we will endeavor to speak and act love towards everyone we come in contact with. The world will know that we are God’s children by our love ‘one for another’. Let us then be careful to heed God’s warning in Rev. 2:4 that we can lose our first love, if we put anything (family, dreams, jobs, materials, etc.) before Him - God has to have first place in our lives and in New Life Assembly. Also we are told in 1 Cor. 13, that ‘we can have prophecy but if there is no love we have nothing; give all to the poor / healings / faith etc., but if we have no love we have nothing. Now these three things remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is Love. Love never fails.(Matthew 22:37 - 39; John 15:9 – 13; 1 Cor. 13; Rom. 12:9-10)THROUGH POWER we make a difference by bringing a sense of becoming. We are a people who are in the process of finding out who we are in Christ, by the guidance and revelation of the Holy Spirit. We are marked and set apart by God to do His work on this earth, realizing we cannot accomplish a thing without the Holy Spirit. We are reminded of this in Zech. 4:6 “Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty”. Jesus said in John 14:12-14 that we will do what He did and even greater things than He did (healing the sick, raising the dead). We must stop saying why and how, and start saying, Why Not?(1 Thess. 5:19; Acts 1:8; John 16:13 – 14; Zech. 4:6; John 14:26; Ex. 33:15-16; Acts 2:4)
OUR MISSION STATEMENT“We are a people, committed to Jesus Christ,to consistent Christian growth, to unity within the Body; and to loving, living and declaring Christ and His Word, through the power of the Holy Spirit, in our world.”WE ARE A PEOPLE expresses our intense sense of community that comes from our individual faith in Christ, His death and resurrection. We function as the family of God and the body of Christ in our relationship with and care for one another. (1 Cor. 12:25 – 27; 1 Peter 2:9 – 10; John 1:12 – 13)COMMITTED TO JESUS CHRIST firmly identifies where our allegiance lies. Believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, we are submitted to His Lordship through personal surrender and obedience to His will.(Rom. 10:9 – 10; Matt 16:24 – 25; John 14:15, 21; Matt 16:16 – 17)TO CONSISTENT CHRISTIAN GROWTH indicates that our commitment to Jesus Christ is not static. Our spiritual growth as Christians involves the disciplines of daily bible reading, prayer and obedience. This results in strengthening our personal relationship with Jesus Christ and prepares us for finding our place of effective ministry.(John 15:7; Luke 18:1; John 8:31; Eph. 4:12 – 13; 2:20 – 21; James 1:2-4)TO UNITY WITH IN THE BODY unity is our goal, not uniformity but the sense that we are all different and have laid down our ways and thoughts for Christ’s ways and thoughts. That together we are one body, made up of different parts. (1 Cor. 12:12; Eph. 4:3; 14-16; John 17:20-23; Ps. 133:1; Rom. 12:4-8)AND TO LOVING, our greatest commandment is, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ How do we love? What does it look like? In 1 Corinthians 13 we are given the true picture of love. (Matthew 22:37 - 39; John 15:9 – 13; 1 Cor. 13; Rom. 12:9-10)LIVING AND DECLARING CHRIST AND HIS WORD shifts our focus outside of ourselves to the mission of Christ. With Christ’s compassion for needy souls, we embrace our responsibility to take His message into the world. We must share our faith in Christ through word and deed by Spirit-controlled lives.(Matt 5:13 – 16; Titus 2:11 – 14; 2 Cor. 3:3; Matt 28:19 – 20)THROUGH THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT emphasizes the importance of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. The source of our living does not come from human ability alone but by divine enablement. We rely on the Spirit to guide us into truth, to provide strength for daily living and to empower us for personal witness.(1 Thess. 5:19; Acts 1:8; John 16:13 – 14; Zech. 4:6; John 14:26; Ex. 33:15-16; Acts 2:4)IN OUR WORLD establishes the setting for our mission which includes the personal world of our families, vocations, and social relationships. Believing Jesus Christ died for all people of all nations, we have a personal challenge to live out His mission wherever we find ourselves.(John 3:16 – 17; John 4:35 – 36; Heb. 13:2-3; Luke 10:2)
